Woman facing DUI charges after wrong-way driving in Westbank neighborhood

HOUSTON, TX – A 57-year-old woman is facing charges of suspected DUI after driving the wrong way in the Westbank neighborhood in northwest Houston yesterday, according to a Facebook post by the Harris County Precinct 4 Constable’s Office.
The accident occurred in the 17000 block of Sorrel Drive, near Sunbonnet Lane, when Carolina Anna Martinez was allegedly swerving on the roadway and driving against the flow of traffic. At one point, she collided with a curb before being stopped by an HCCO deputy.
The officer performed field sobriety checks on the suspect, and then determined that she was driving while under the influence of alcohol.
She was taken into custody under charges of DUI, and was then booked into the Harris County Jail with a bond of $100.
No injuries were immediately reported in the accident.
