Man and child sent to hospital after vehicle crashes into bayou in SE Houston

HOUSTON, TX – A man and a little girl were taken to the hospital after their car rolled over into a bayou in southeast Houston yesterday evening, according to KTRK.
The accident happened on Bellfort Avenue near Glencrest Street at about 5:30 p.m. when a dark-colored vehicle crashed into the bayou and trapped its two occupants inside for about 40 minutes.
The driver was knocked unconscious during the accident, while his passenger, a little girl, seemed to have avoided being seriously injured.
The two were rescued by bystanders who managed, after about 40 minutes, to break open a window and pull the victims.
The victims, who have yet to be publicly identified, were taken to the hospital for the treatment of undisclosed injuries.
The accident remains under investigation at this time.
