HPD police cruiser hit by civilian running a stop sign

HOUSTON, TX – According to ABC 13, a Houston Police Department police cruiser was hit by a civilian who ran a red sign overnight.
The officer was traveling on Shepherd Drive near Inker Street on their way to a family disturbance call when their vehicle was hit by a civilian who ran a stop sign. The force of the crash flipped the civilian’s vehicle on its side.
Authorities say the officer did not have their lights or a siren on at the time. The officer was not seriously injured but the driver of the other car suffered a cut to the head.
