Mathis— Third Child Passenger in Train-Car Crash on County Road 1136 Identified

The third passenger in a vehicle involved in a fatal car versus train car accident on County Road 1136 has succumbed to his injuries, according to the Texas Department of Safety.
DPS identified the victim as 5-year-old Aubree Galla of Beeville died. She died of injuries at Driscoll Children’s Hospital in Corpus Christi on Sunday evening.
According to local authorities, the major wreck took place at around 10:30 a.m. on County Road 1136 near Mathis. A vehicle ran a red light and collided with a passing train. The impact of the collision pushed the car into a cable barrier, crushing it in the process.
Two occupants of the car, identified as 12-year old Aiden and 8-year-old Jacoby Posada, were declared dead on scene. The driver was rushed to a hospital for treatment. He was listed in critical condition.
A preliminary investigation shows that two of the passengers were not wearing a seat belt. No charges have been made as the investigation is still ongoing.
