HOUSTON, TX – Three people were killed and four others were injured in a suspected drunk driving crash in northwest Harris County early New Year’s Day.
Click2Houston reports that the crash occurred at about 1 a.m. on Saturday. A Toyota Sienna minivan traveling south on Barkers Cypress Road turned left onto Barkers Branch Drive in front of an oncoming Toyota RAV4 and was subsequently T-boned by the SUV.
Several of the Sienna’s six occupants were ejected from the vehicle. Two died at the scene, while a third died after being transported to an area hospital.
The minivan’s driver and two other passengers remain hospitalized, as does the driver and sole occupant of the RAV4. She told authorities at the scene that she had been drinking prior to the incident, and is believed to have been speeding at the time of the collision.
