2 killed, 1 injured in fiery crash following police pursuit near Klein

KLEIN, TX (HARRIS COUNTY) – Two people were killed and another was sent to the hospital following a police pursuit following an alleged theft in Harris County this afternoon, according to ABC 13 News.
The pursuit began on eastbound State Highway 99 near Gleannloch Forest Road at around 3:43 p.m. and involved three people whom Harris County Constable deputies suspected of being involved in catalytic converter thefts.
During the pursuit, the driver lost control of the vehicle, and it overturned. The vehicle collided with multiple trees, then burst into flames.
The deputy was able to pull one male victim out of the burning vehicle and extinguished the blaze. That victim was airlifted to the hospital with critical injuries.
Another two people were pronounced dead at the scene.
The deputy was not injured in the crash.
According to law enforcement, catalytic converters were recovered at the scene.
The collision remains under investigation at this time.
