2 dead, 4 hurt following fiery wrong-way crash on North Fwy in Spring

SPRING, TX – A fiery, head-on collision in Spring led to the deaths of two women and the injury of four other people early this morning, according to KPRC 2 News.
The collision happened on the North Freeway, near the exit for Rayford and Sawdust, at about 1:45 a.m., after the driver of a Honda reportedly was going the wrong way down the freeway. She collided head-on with a Dodge pickup truck, which then burst into flames.
The driver of the Honda, a 25-year-old Conroe woman, was pronounced dead at the scene.
Authorities were able to extinguish the blaze in the Dodge and were helping victims to safety. However, the fire started again, with a 22-year-old woman from Conroe trapped within the wreckage. Despite the attempts of first responders to free her and then resuscitate her, she died at the scene.
Four people were taken to the hospital with serious, critical injuries.
The accident remains under investigation at this time.
