19-year-old dead, toddler and woman injured after South Side pedestrian crash

HOUSTON, TX – A teenager was killed and a toddler and a woman were hospitalized after a driver collided with a pedestrian in South Houston yesterday morning, according to KHOU.
The crash happened just before 12 p.m. at Martin Luther King Boulevard and Reed Road, as a 19-year-old woman and a second pedestrian were crossing the street.
The teenager was then hit by the 20-year-old driver of a black sedan, which also collided with a light pole and a Metro bus stop. The vehicle then burst into flames.
The teen pedestrian died after the collision.
The driver and a 2-year-old passenger were taken to the hospital with undisclosed injuries.
It is unclear if the other pedestrian was hurt in the crash.
The accident remains under investigation at this time.
