18-wheeler jack-knifes in early-morning crash on Gulf Fwy, causes closures

HOUSTON, TX – An 18-wheeler accident on the Gulf Freeway caused traffic delays and road closures in an early-morning accident today, according to a tweet published by the Houston Police Department.

The collision occurred in the 8500 block of northbound Gulf Fwy, and was reported by HPD just before 3:30 a.m. this morning.
An 18-wheeler truck reportedly jack-knifed during the collision.
Authorities closed the northbound lanes of the freeway for the cleanup and investigation of the accident.
The cause of the accident has not yet been made available.
There is no word on possible injuries at this time.
