Houston – A woman died after hit-and-run crash

A suspect is still at large following a hit-and-run collision that killed one person.
According to sheriff’s officials, at around 5:40 a.m., a woman was crossing the street when she got struck by an unknown vehicle driving along Farm to Market Road 529 near Haven Creek Drive.
The adult female pedestrian, whose identification is yet to be released, was immediately pronounced dead at the scene. A witness told the police that the suspect vehicle did not stop to check on the victim and fled the scene.
Investigators were called onto the scene to gather evidence and locate the suspect vehicle. Based on initial reports, the vehicle is possibly a silver Toyota passenger vehicle which has a damaged front end. Anyone who has a lead to the said vehicle is encouraged to call the authorities to help with the investigation.

State laws require drivers to aid in the injured party involved in the collision. If a driver failed to stop to provide help to the injured victim and flees the scene, they can be charged with felony hit and run.
