Waco – Auto Collision on Interstate 35

The Waco Police Department is conducting an investigation about a vehicle accident on Interstate 35, Friday morning.
Just before 10:50 a.m., local troopers responded to Interstate 35 near Mile Marker 338 following a call reporting a vehicle collision. According to the report, an undescribed vehicle was traveling along the highway when, for reasons that had not yet been determined, it crashed into a road sign. The impact of the crash caused the post sign to fly into the air and landed on another car that was traveling along the southbound lane of the I-35. A passenger in the second vehicle sustained serious injuries and was pronounced deceased at the scene. His identity has not been released.
No one else was injured.
The car that struck the car fled the scene before police arrived at the scene.
An investigation is underway.
