San Marcos – Two Died in Dump Truck Collision on Interstate 35

A fatal vehicle collision on Interstate 35 in San Marcos caused the death of two people, Thursday morning.
According to initial reports, the incident occurred at around 6:30 a.m. on I-35 near Texas Highway 123. A passenger car had been traveling along the highway when, for reasons that had not yet been determined, it crashed into a dump truck. The driver of the passenger car and his passenger sustained fatal injuries as a result of the collision. They were pronounced deceased by emergency crews who responded to the scene. The victims’ identifications were withheld until their next of kin has been notified
No one else was injured.
The San Marcos Police Department was requested at the scene to assist in the clearing. They have yet to determine the reason that caused the driver to struck the truck.
An investigation is underway.
