The Midland County Police Department named the victim who died in a car accident on State Highway 349, last week, Friday morning.

The fatality was identified as 44-year-old Gerardo Perez. He is a resident of Fort Worth.

Perez was a passenger in the Ford F-250 pickup truck that was traveling along SH 349, just before 8:00 a.m. According to local troopers who responded to the scene, the pickup truck collided with a semi-truck that was traveling at a short distance from F-250. How the crash took place remains unclear but it was confirmed that the pickup truck rear-ended the semi-truck while attempting to make a left turn.

Perez died at the scene of the crash. The pickup driver and two more passengers sustained non-life threatening injuries and were taken to a hospital for treatment.

No one else was injured.
