McAllen – Student Hurt in Pedestrian Crash on Gumwood Ave

A student from an elementary school was hospitalized after getting hit by a car on Gumwood Avenue in McAllen, Friday.
According to the preliminary investigation, the incident occurred around the bus loading area near Alvarez Elementary School on Gumwood Avenue. A student was around the vicinity when he was struck by a vehicle. Police said the impact of the crash caused a power outage.
The student, whose identification has not yet been determined, sustained non-life threatening injuries as a result of the accident. His condition was not immediately disclosed.
No one else was injured, as per reports.
