Marfa – 10-year-old Zecharia Dodson Died in Major Car Crash on Highway 67

Marfa law enforcement officials have named the boy who was killed after the vehicle he was in overturned on US Highway 67, according to a local news source.
The fatality was identified as Zecharia Dodson, 10.
Initial investigation shows that the incident took place just before 6:00 a.m. on Highway 67, six miles east of Marfa. A Ford Explorer had been traveling along the eastbound lane of the highway when it suddenly swerved to avoid a deer that was at the middle of the roadway. After swerving, the Ford then rolled over killing its passenger, Dodson, in the process. Meanwhile, the driver, identified as William Lee Dodson, was transported to Big Bend Regional Medical Center with non-incapacitating injuries. His condition was not immediately disclosed.
