Kaufman – Three Killed in Head-on Crash on SH 243

At least three people were pronounced deceased after a vehicle accident involving two vehicles on State Highway 243, Saturday night.
In an unspecified time in the evening, local police were dispatched to SH 243 near John Wayne Road in response to a call reporting a vehicle accident. According to initial reports, a 2006 Saturn SUV was heading west on the highway when, for reasons that had not yet been determined, it veered into the opposing traffic where it collided with a 2013 Chevrolet Equinox head on.
Both drivers of the Saturn and Chevrolet and another occupant were pronounced dead at the scene. Their identification was not immediately disclosed.
Meanwhile, a passenger in the Chevrolet was taken to Baylor University Medical Center in Dallas with serious injuries. He was identified as 74-year-old Brenda Fuller.
Police are investigating the accident.
