Wednesday afternoon, an auto collision involving a pickup truck took place on State Highway k95, north of Holland.

Just before 2:00 p.m., Texas Department of Public Safety officials were dispatched to SH k95, near Roberts Road, in response to a call reporting a vehicle accident. Initial investigation shows that a Dodge pickup truck was heading south when, for reasons that had not been determined yet, it drove off the roadway. When the driver tried to overcorrect the truck, it went out of control and overturned several times.

The driver of the pickup truck was rushed to Baylor Scott and White with serious injuries. He was listed in critical condition. Meanwhile, his passenger sustained fatal injuries and was pronounced deceased at the scene.

No identification has been released pending notification of the victims’ next of kin.
