The Corpus Christi Police Department is investigating a three-vehicle accident involving a motorcycle on Interstate 37, a local news source reported.

Police said the incident took place on I-37 near Labonte Park, just after 8:00 p.m. A Chevrolet Cruze had been traveling along the highway when it slowed down and got struck by a Suzuki motorcycle traveling in the same lane. The impact ejected the driver of the motorcycle and landed on the roadway. A passing Lexus was not able to avoid the rider and struck him in the process. A passenger in the motorcycle landed on Chevrolet’s trunk and was able to hold on until the car stopped.

The rider of the motorcycle was pronounced dead on scene by Justice of the Peace a few moments after the crash. He was identified as 35-year-old Ramiro De Los Santos.
